After days of persistent rain

-day and night, night and day-

suddenly, she appears,

unannounced.

Her beauty is unmatched;

her presence unmistakable,

as she listens silently, but attentively.

What you choose to tell her is up to you.

She listens to those who weep;

she quietly watches over those in prayer;

she smiles reassuringly at the anxious.

Not all is lost.

Her pale grace causes stars to twinkle.

She has called the African night sky

her home since the beginning of time,

yet time itself has never diminished her.

In our way, we acknowledge and

celebrate her return.
