We often take for granted

These words, that pour out of our mouths

Daily we express ourselves vocally

Projection euphoric joy or violent rage

Some people know this power

Some have seen it, felt it, heard it

They’ve experienced how powerful they truly are

And they’re afraid

Afraid of the power they contain

Afraid of expressions that are sharp as a dagger

That pierce through hearts and torment souls

So they embed the bad ones behind a smile

To avoid guilt gnawing at their consciousness

They’d rather spread kindness with it

Making the world a better place
