When I grow up
I don’t want to be the woman
That wonders up and down for what, man?
I want to enjoy life to the fullest
Not like a bird cooped up in a nest.
I want to be who follows your footsteps, oh Lord
Then all that’ll follow it is joy.
I wish to have more money.
Not some lousy man is calling me honey.
When I grow up,
I’ll sit down with my cup
Full of coffee
All that’ll be left is a toffee.
Till sunset
I’ll still have my eyes on the set
Of buildings and nature
All the changes and texture.
When I grow up
I want to be me
Me who is free.
