Wake me up!

Wake me up!

Wake me up, the day death runs in fear for its existence

when hunger and thirst is quenched

Wake me up, when women stop wailing and pleading

For their lives,

when women and children stop to lose their lives in the hands of men

wake me up!

When the black nation unites

Wake me up!

Wake me up, when our people find peace

When the world becomes a better place

when body shaming, racism and discrimination reaches its destination

when rape, and murder surrenders

Wake me up, when ubuntu is restored

when the cry of a woman in pain

brings the society to its knees

wake me up, when marriage is more sacred

when our own mothers become our biggest supporters

when the hands of our grannies and aunties

know no evil to destroy another woman’s daughter’s dreams

wake me up, when jealousy is an abomination

Wake me up!

Wake me up when our leaders become one

when the system of corruption and fraud breaks down

when the church becomes our hiding place

wake me up when our pastors do GOD’s work

when there’s no division and favorites in the church

when the youth claim their power back from the devil

wake me up!

when families stop hating and killing each other

when sisters share one meal

when brothers and fathers protect women and children

when our people look out for one another.

Wake me up when our fertile land produces the finest products

To feed our dying and hungry nation

When the rains of blessings fall on us

when our rivers and streams are full

And when the birds chirp inside their nests

When our wildlife is conserved.

WAKE ME UP!

WAKE ME UP!
