I’m always in alarm
Am I next?
A question every woman asks herself
Every minute, every hour, every day a sister is no more
The night is filled with muffled screams of women
The morning dawns with a dead body
Acquaintances, loved ones and neighbours have become monsters
They infiltrate us by force
Shut our voices with fists,
They threaten and kill us
They’ve made our oppression their Mission
Patriarchy is at play
They’re walking Scott free,
And carry on without guilt
Society has left women vulnerable and excuses abuse
We wear black every day
Our hands ache from holding placards,
Marching for justice has become our daily bread
We’re always in mourning
Tears keep falling
Children are left motherless
Murders are liberal
And Injustice prevails
