Sun beams percolate through the window pane.
Her eyes watch as he grew smaller away.
The distance he walks, will eat him away.

She wears a smile on her face.

Her heart bleeds with torrential pain.

” will he ever return?”

She is lost in despair.

The leaves leave the trees,

They fall with languid speed.

The fall is here, “he promised me”!

She wonders and wanders.

She weeps, she wipes, she wrings.

She writes, she waits, she rings.

What about her ring?

Solitude weighs more than her thoughts.

What were her hopes?

The wind is cold,

Her heart is cold,

She thinks of the road.

The road is long,

But she longs for his warmth.
