I sit and wonder
Will it ever end
The hate we have for each other
The rage charged toward one another
Nowadays there is no respect
From kids to elders there is no difference.
Will we ever see change
Maybe we should just forget
Nowadays life is hard
You got to be tough
It’s all about survival
You’re lucky if you’re still alive
Nowadays jobs are scarce
It’s different from the past
Even those with qualifications
Are at home, unemployed
Nowadays things are different
Technology is making life easier
While others are losing their jobs
The job of 10 men is now done by one machine
Kids are no longer raised by the community
There is a decline in masculinity
There is conflict in the family
Corruption and connection are ruling the country.
Nowadays being broke is a norm.
Dying is better than living.
Depression is the new epidemic
And hunger is the new pandemic.
Nowadays there is no love
Boys just hit and run
Women puff and pass
And kids are losing their morals
We no longer follow tradition
We are consumed by competition
We have forgotten culture
In our families, there is no structure
Everyone wants to be popular
Everyone wants to have power
We no longer empower
We only destroy each other.
