I told him that my love doesn’t bite

but I’m a poet and I write

I was always afraid of heights

so while other poets fell in love

I chose to rise

Those who fell for me paid a price

So if you want to love me tread with caution and be wise

Because I’m a poet and I write

I chose to write

To write the pain away

the pain of missing you every day

even though I’m the one who let you go

you held my hand tight all through my dark nights but I still didn’t know

how to love you the way you deserve to be loved

and I’m sorry

Whenever you think of falling in love again

Wear a helmet but never fall for a poet like me

Set the pieces of your heart free you once lover of mine
