Why do we love certain people more than they love us?

Why do we care about them more than they care about us?

We always go that extra mile for them

We are always the ones who keeps on reaching out to them

We are the ones who always call them

We always send them messages asking how they are doing

We are always the ones who greet them first

Cause we don’t want the friendship to die,

We don’t want the ship to sink

But they don’t care

I think it’s time that we also take a step back

Let them be the ones who are trying everything to make sure that the ship doesn’t sink

Let them be the ones who reach out to us

Let them be the ones who call and texts us for a change

A friendship is supposed to be like a team work

It’s like love it needs both teams to participate

And to reach out to each other

It’s a one sided relationship that always hurts the one who cares the most

Why should we sacrifice so much and receive nothing?

Why should we go the extra mile for people who aren’t willing to meet us halfway?

People who feels like they are doing you a favour by being in your life?

People who feels like they have better things to do than spending time with you?

People who would rather wanna be with their “favourites” than with you?

It’s not only in friendships that it goes like this

Sometimes we go through this with our own cousins

If you don’t call or text them you will not hear from them

Life just continue as normal

They only remember you when you reach out to them
