I fell to my knees,

A soft sounding escaping

Tears flowing,

Shivering and scared.

I stared at my attire,

Imagining myself in a crowd,

Excited yet afraid,

Wondering if I should go or stay.

My companions looked ready,

Stunning and in disbelief.

I felt like yesterday,

When I should be cherishing

A life i’ve worked for.

Song of the day played as a ringtone,

Mates waiting in the crowds,

I felt unsure,

Though I wanted to go.

In time, I rose up,

Wore my spick- and – span suit,

Walked out proudly,

Deep inside, shouting, “Mama, I made it! “
