What are you?

I’m red, not bright red, the faded kind

Thanks to my torn soles the earth and I have become one

The stroke of a brush filled with bubbled foam, my insides have felt none

Footprints of the journey are all that I have left behind

Where have you been?

I have been over the valleys and have seen the seas

Trampled in large crowds by those who look much better than me

I’ve felt the harsh rain scorn down on me

Only to be dried by this beautiful yellow round being

Where is your destination?

My destination lies with the one who

chose me

Recognized my worth and paid every last penny

Even in my weary condition he wears me

The sight of me should surely ring some kind of alarm,

But no, apparently I’m his one and only

Lucky charm

Who do you belong to?

I belong to no one else but you
