Sleep, a fleeting dream, elusive and rare
A good night’s rest, a luxury beyond compare
Tossing and turning, we lay awake at night
Our minds racing, our bodies aching with all our might
The world outside is loud, a constant din
A never-ending stream of noise that pierces within
The bed is too small, the pillow too flat
Comfort seems distant, a distant, unattainable chat
Our thoughts are a jumble, a tangled mess
Worries and fears, a never-ending stress
We try to relax, to calm our minds
But sleep remains elusive, a treasure hard to find
So we lie awake, staring at the ceiling
Longing for rest, for a peaceful revealing
But it seems impossible, a dream out of reach
A good night’s sleep, a luxury we can’t seize.
