A darkness falls, a weight descends

A soul once bright, now troubled and bent

The world outside is full of light

But in my mind, a constant night

The shadows creep, the fears unfold

A voice within, that’s cold and old

It whispers lies, of worthlessness and shame

A never-ending cycle, of guilt and pain

I try to rise, to shake off the chains

But they hold tight, like a relentless rain

The tears fall hard, the heart does ache

As I struggle on, for my own sake

But still I hold, on to hope’s thin thread

A glimmer of light, in the darkest dread

A chance to heal, to rise above the pain

To find my voice, and speak my truth again.
