Under the Maplewood tree

Beneath its longest branch

Our short hugs

bore our longest kisses

Even during the rainiest days

which purged our 2nd anniversary

of melted cakes and dry laughs

As I looked into your eyes

and witnessed their moonlight

during broad daylight

If only I had known

that same branch

would outgrow our time together

would I have cut it

And watched it fall upon the lies

Of us being together forever

On that same spot

where we shared hugs and tears

where your beloved grave now lies
