I have been drowning in my own tears.
I have been carrying burdens that I didn’t know where capable to kill.

I once fell…so hard that I no longer had the desire to live.
Anxiety, depression, trauma and fear…
They say those are for the ladies and not a man…like me.

I thought we all measured up.
I thought we all at certain times became victims of our own hearts.
I thought even our own hearts could sometimes get scarred.

“Real Men Do Not Cry”
I almost let myself die.
All in the name of being a man.
All in the name of being black.
Along with society’s suspense.
