It’s been a month since the collapsing incident happened and the building was already on the fixing process. Everybody attended classes as usual, Mr Abner had been unavailable for the past 2 weeks and students have started to complain. However, the tutors were making sure they assist where possible since well the exams are around the corner. Thando is still missing and Goitsimang still hopes she’ll return one day.

(Goitsimang, Lefa and Koketso were seating in a dining hall, takeaways in front of them. They just came from a long tutorial and the last class for that day. It was Wednesday afterall – SPORTS DAY.)

Lefa: OH thank God we are done with classes for the day. We be attending like we’re studying for presidency.

Koketso: (Laughing) We all know you hate studying neh, but you can’t say presidency. Anyway it’s been long since we did something fun together. Let’s go out tonight.

Goitsimang: That’s a good idea. You guys can go, I need to catch up on my novels.

Koketso : Come on friend, we don’t have to go clubbing. We can do something different. Maybe watching movies??

Goitsimang: I’m…. I

Lefa: (Gave Koketso that “talk to your girl” look)

Koketso : Come on babe. Know what, you get to choose a movie we’ll be watching. Please please let’s go.

Goitsimang: (Gave him a smiley look) Okay then.. That’s a deal. Re on.

Lefa: No no no noooo, you can’t do that mfethu. She always chooses horror movies and you know I hate horror.

Koketso : We will watch something else after that. You can choose your favourite as well.

Lefa: (Gave koketso a look and walked away).

Goitsimang and Koketso laughed at him.

Around 5pm

Goitsimang is in the bathroom. She feels weird but she continued showering. She’s not used to this new Res but she will have to adjust. Once she was done, she headed to her room. Her phone was ringing and she quickly dropped her cosmetic bag on the floor answered it. It was a video call from Koketso.

Koketso: You’re still in your towel? I’m coming to fetch you now.

Goitsimang: Are you guys done already? Ay majita lego hlapa for 2 minutes. Where is Lefa anyway? Has he arrived yet?

Koketso: I don’t know where he is. If he doesn’t show up we will have to pass by his house. As for me, I’m done and ready.

Goitsimang: Okay, let me finish up real quick.

Koketso: You better hurry coz I’ll be there in a minute.

Goitsimang: Okay, I’m on it. I don’t even know what to wear.

Koketso: I’ll figure it out. Anyway send me your location. Phela I don’t know your room.

Goitsimang: You’re crazy… It’s room 5 next to the kitchen.

Koketso: Okay I’m coming.

The friends were already at the movies and they decided to grab something to eat before the movie starts. Lefa was complaining about how bad his night gonna go because they will be watching horror movies. He even asked his crew if they can go home early because he’s scared of the dark, especially after watching scary movies. Koketso asked him to spend the night at his room. They ate and bought snacks and drinks. They entered the movie palace and they were already settled on their seats when they got the suprise of their life. Goitsimang this time didn’t choose horror, but action movie. She just seated there waiting for them to say something but they all looked at each other and kept quiet. Suddenly Goitsimang started laughing.

Lefa: (Searched for Koketso’s face and he realised that he’s also surprised by what they see.)

Koketso: What are you…. ( Goitsimang shut him off by her finger)

Goitsimang: Shhhh, people are watching. Please, we can talk after the movie.

Lefa: (Whispers) Eh mfethu, are you sure Goitsi is okay?

Koketso: Ofcourse she is. Maybe she is seeing a ghost. (he said teasingly)

Lefa: (Scared) What?? Can she see them? The ghosts??

Koketso: No man I’m kidding. She’s probably on her thoughts. Now stop shivering and focus on the movie.

Lefa: You see why I never go out with you guys? You like acting weird.

Koketso: Oh shut up, what are you on about? We’re always going out.

Lefa was feeling uneasy the entire time and couldn’t wait for the movie to end. Goitsimang gave a huge giggle, everybody in the room gave her a look. She put herself together and tried to keep quiet but what she was giggling about made it hard for her to contain herself.
