When I look back on the year 2021, I hear the cries of women and children begging their molesters to have mercy on them. I smell the fear of females scared to pass by a group of men. I feel the sharp razor in the wrists of the youth who’s lost hope, convicted of a crime they didn’t commit, the one who lost it all to addiction. I see a mother’s efforts to fight for her marriage. I see an ocean full of tears of victims, those who have been bullied, the abandoned and the hopeless. The blood of the those who ended their lives floating on the road, sad reality as I recall no one was there for them, someone could’ve been there and add on reasons to live for
When I look forward I see the society standing against GBV, people looking out for each other, another man’s success bringing joy to the community and not jealousy. Fathers keeping their promises and fighting fora role in their children’s lives. I see hope and a bright tomorrow
