The past youth of 1976 fought the youth of South Africa to be taught in a language they understood better. They suffered but didn’t give up dure to their hunger of freedom. But were they fully successful in achieving that?

I don’t this so. Firstly it wasn’t only the Afrikaans language that was forced into us but also English. Well we still have to learn out subjects or courses in English. Here is an example, if you go work at a Private Hospital you have to know and speak English, if a white person is working at a local hospital his/her colleges have to know and speak English. Why don’t the white person learn Nguni language because he has to work with black people?

Secondly the youth does not have jobs many youth people depend on grants. Only business men and women benefits from the celebration of youth day. NSFAS is a loan not school fees that the government has kept for you until you have passed matric and quality for university. And NSFAS application is a whole lot of process and many people don’t qualify not because they really don’t with just little mistakes.

We thank the past you that have fought for the youth of South Africa but I believe we still have a long way to go.
