One of the first things you probably learnt in grammar is that the first word of a sentence always starts with a capital letter. However, there are other times when you need to remember to use a capital letter:

β€’ Always use capital letters to show proper nouns (e.g. South Africa, Bafana Bafana, Pretoria, Zuma, Orange River, Pep Stores, Table Mountain, Muslim).

β€’ Always use capital letters to show proper adjectives (e.g. South African, Chinese). Proper adjectives have their roots as proper nouns (e.g. South Africa, China). Common adjectives (e.g. fat, little, common) do not start with a capital letter unless they are the first word of a sentence.
