We all need a place to live
Not a hole or a shack
A step or a kennel.

Black, brown, pink, green or yellow
We all need a place to rest
Where we can be warm, tucked in,
Like birds in a nest.

Poor or rich, healthy or sick
Old or young, whoever you pick,
We need shelter around us.

Shelter that is safe
Shelter that is dry
Maybe made from bricks
And oh! with plumbing and electrics!
