Charmaine, Desmond and Claire are all in costume, taking off their masks or make-up. Desmond is looking at his phone, at the footage.
CHARMAINE: Okay, so now we each had a chance to do our costume changes. Do we have the right song?
DESMOND: I got it.
CHARMAINE: Okay, let me see what it looks like.
All three look at Desmond’s phone.
CLAIRE: Ooh, I do look cute!
CHARMAINE: Me too.
DESMOND: I should hope so. We only had to reshoot it 500 times so you could be happy with your parts.
CHARMAINE: Whatever, Desmond. Oh, Boniswa’s part looks cool too. Wait, where is she? Did she go home?
The other two shrug.
CHARMAINE: (Shouting) Boniswa!
Boniswa returns to the room.
CHARMAINE: Oh, you’re still here. What were you doing?
BONISWA: I was talking to your ma.
CHARMAINE: Oh my word, are you serious? Why are you so obsessed with my ma?
BONISWA: I’m not. She’s funny though, and she has so many interesting things to say. You should hear some of the stories.
CHARMAINE: Maybe if my life depended on it, I would sit through one of her stories. Come now, come see the video. Your part is cool.
BONISWA: One minute! I just have to finish in the kitchen quickly. I’ll be back now-now.
Charmaine rolls her eyes and turns to the others.
CHARMAINE: I don’t know what her problem is. Isn’t it weird that she’s hanging out talking to my ma all the time? I mean, she’s like what, 70? What can they possibly have to talk about?
CLAIRE: My ouma is pretty cool, actually. And my oupa. Whenever I go back to Joburg I stay with them. Never bored. I actually wish they were living down here, so I can see them more than once per year.
CHARMAINE: Well, you can borrow mine. I see too much of her.
DESMOND: I wish my gogo lived with me. I actually only see her once every two or three years. But when I was small I used to live with her and I always feel like nobody spoiled me as much as she did. No, I miss her. You’re on your own here, Charmaine. Don’t take your ma for granted.
CHARMAINE: Okay, I didn’t expect you all to gang up against me. Let me just turn around so you can put the knives right in my back.
Charmaine gets up and mimics being stabbed in the back as the other two laugh at her antics. She falls to the ground dramatically, lying on her stomach with her cheek to the floor.
