In the waiting room. Bina sits with Cynthia, who puts her arm around her.

CYNTHIA: I didn’t think she would be the nurse on duty today. I even called in to check. Sorry Bina.

Bina buries her head in Cynthia’s shoulder. Cynthia comforts her.

BINA: Cynthia, I’m scared. She says I might have HIV. I have to get a test now. What if…

Cynthia leans back, holds Bina by the shoulders and looks at her.

CYNTHIA: What did she say?

BINA: She says I – I should have asked him to use protection. That she sees girls like me here all the time getting HIV.

Cynthia looks as though she is getting angry. She frowns.

CYNTHIA: Bina, listen. OK, maybe there’s a chance you got HIV. It’s true, it can happen. But you know it’s not the end of the world. You know my uncle’s been living with it for ten years now, he takes his medications, he’s healthy. But um, yes, it’s not the best situation to be in. Did you tell her who he was?

Bina shakes her head.

Another nurse, Melody, enters the waiting room. She smiles at Bina as she calls her name.

MELODY: Bina Makara?

Bina looks up, terrified. Cynthia stands up with her.

CYNTHIA: Can I come with?

Melody looks at Bina.

MELODY: Is that what you want?

Bina nods. Melody gestures for Cynthia to follow them.
