Alex Eliseev

Alex Eliseev’s career has been a great adventure. Among other things, he’s chased a pet tiger around the farms of Limpopo and gone on the road with the Moscow Circus. Thanks to his investigative work, unsavoury people have been brought to book and it was he who broke the story that Hilton Botha, chief investigating officer in the Oscar Pistorius case, was himself facing criminal charges. He’s won one Mondi Shanduka award and been a finalist twice. As his career grows, however, he says he realises that it’s not just dodging danger that excites him, he wants to know what lies beneath the surface of this country. And he’s got just the story to help him to do that. He has been commissioned to write a book about the 13-year-old cold case of the murder of Betty Ketani, a story he broke and has been following ever since. The book might be the biggest thrill yet.
