Anoeschka von Meck

Freddie, the man who told me about the self-cleansing ability of the sea back in Tietiesbaai, gave me the number of the author Anoeschka von Meck and told me to give her a call when I was in the Calvinia area. She is the author of Annerkant die Longdrop (1998); Vaselinetjie (2004) and Essie Honiball – Die Ontwaking (2010). She was still busy writing the latter when I stayed with her in Calvinia. She was staying in a friend’s home while finishing her manuscript, though she also stayed in the Boekhuis (Book House). This is a house that belongs to a trust and is made available to authors for a period of time so that they can tap into their creativity in this peaceful setting.
