Thina singabantu balapha eNingizimu Africa singakhetha noma yiluphi ukholo, noma sikhethe ukungakholwa lutho. Lokhu kubalulekile ezweni lombuso wentando yeningi futhi uMthethosisekelo wethu uvikela ‘inkululeko yokholo’. Futhi siyisizwe esikholwayo! Ucwaningo lwangonyaka ka-2013 olwenziwa i-Statistics SA lwathola ukuthi u-84% ungama-Christian, u-5% uyi-African Traditional Religion (ATR), u-2% amaMuslim, u-1% amaHindu, u-5% wona  ‘awukholelwa lutho’, u-0.2% kuphela ozibiza ngokuthi u-atheist noma u-agnostic. Akhona namanye amadlanzana amancane akholelwa kwezinye izinkolo.*

Kodwa abantu abaningi abakholelwa kwi-Christianity bayihlanganisa ne-ATR, efaka ukuxhumana ngokomoya namadlozi. Ziningi nezinhlobo ze-Christianity. Ezinye sezathatha izindlela zesintu kakhulu, azisafani nakancane ne-Christianity eyokuqala eyafika nabantu base-Europe kudala.

Izinkolo ezijwayelekile zonke zikholelwa kwi-‘Golden Rule’ yokubekezelelana. Lomthetho uthi, ‘Phatha abanye abantu ngendlela ofisa ukuba nawe bakuphathe ngayo’. Indaba ethi Ukholo ikhombisa ukuthi izinto zingaxoveka kangakanani uma abantu bekholelwa ngokweqile okholweni lwabo bagcine bengasakwazi ukubekezelelana

Umlingisi ophambili othandekayo, uMnumzane Msomi “…ungumuntu onomoya omuhle yize eneminyaka engu-92 futhi enizifo eziningi – esamathambo, esikashukela kanye nesenhliziyo.” Uma iqala indaba siyasola ukuthi uyabona naye ukuthi impilo yakhe ende, enempumelelo iyaphela manje. Kodwa izingane zakhe azikuvumi lokhu, zisebenzisa izinsuku zakhe zokugcina ukuba ziqhubeke zilwe ngoba zikholelwa ezinkolweni ezihlukene. Sikubona iqala indaba lokhu kuhlakana kwezinkolo:

“Le mithi yenu yabelungu isebenza igcine ngokuhluleka! kungenelela uMondli” …. “Nansi into ekugulisayo, Baba! Le mithi yabelungu!” uMondli ukhomba i-drip elenga ngaphezulu kwekhanda likayise. “Into ekufanele siyenze ukuba sihambe siyobona uMbambo njengamanje!”

“Ungaqali ngalo mbhedo wakho wemithi yesiZulu, Mondli. Awusiyeke ngokuthakatha!” kumemeza uZinhle. Ukhomba wonke umuntu okhona egumbini ngomunwe. “UBaba ugula kanjena ngoba akakholelwa kuJesu! UNkulunkulu ujezisa njengakho ukupha kwakhe!”

Noma kunjalo, uMnumzane Msomi uyavuma ukuphuma esibhedlela. Lokhu ukwenza yize umzukulu wakhe omthandayo, uScelo, esaba ukuthi lokhu kuzomenza asheshe ukufa. Njengoba indaba ivuleka siyabona ukuthi uMnumzane Msomi ufuna ukuba seduzane nomndeni wakhe, ekhaya lakhe, ezinsukwini zakhe zokugcina. Ubekezela okufunwa uMondli, abekezele okufunwa uZinhle: ukuya noMondli enyangeni, nokufika komfundisi kaZinhle ezomkhipha amadimoni.

UMondli uthi isizwe sonakele ngba thina siwalahlile amasiko. Ukholwa ngokuphelele inyanga, uMbambo. Inyanga ithi kufanele bahlabele idlozi elithize, aqinisekisa ngokuthi emuva kokuhlabela idlozi,

“Yebo, ubaba wakho uzosinda. Uzovuka abe ngumqemane!”

Indaba iyakhombisa ukuthi akwenzeki lokhu kusinda. Angasinda kanjani umuntu omdala kangaka, ophethwe izifo eziningi kangaka?

Kodwa uMondli usinika ubufakazi futhi naye uZinhle ukholelwa ngokweqile okholweni lakhe. Uma ubukisisa kuyabonakala ukuthi ngempela uZinhle unaso isandla ekufeni kukaMama wabo: “UZinhle nomfundisi wakhe batshela uMa ukuthi ayeke ukuphuza amaphilisi okulapha ushukela ngoba bethi igazi likaJesu selimsindisile! Yena qobo lomfundisi obiza amadlozi ethu ngamadimoni!”

Umuthi wesilungu nawo unazo izici, kodwa kuyabonakala ukuthi uyazihlenga izimpilo zabantu futhi uphilisa abantu abane-HIV, isifo sikashukela kanye nezinye izifo ezibucayi isikhathi eside. Kungani uyekwe umuthi wesilungu ngenxa yokholo? Ngoba phela umuthi wesilungu owakhelwe, futhi akuwona owokholo oluthize!

Kodwa ingqikithi yale ndaba imayelana nokukhombisa ukuthi ukungabekezelelani ngokokholo phakathi kukaMondli noZinhle kuyibulala kanjani into ebalulekile empilweni: ukuzwana komndeni. Nangu esekugcineni kwempilo yakhe uMnumzane Msomi, kodwa uphatheke kabuhlungu:

“Nginemali eningi kodwa ngiyahluleka ukuhlanganisa indodana nendodakazi yami. Ngiyahluleka ukuxazulula inzondo ephakathi kwabo. Angikwazi ukuhlala nabo bonke abazukulu bami kanye kanye ngoba uMondli noZinhle ababhekani,”

Siyabona ukuthi inkinga efanayo ekhungethe umndeni wakwaMsomi iyakwazi ukuhlukanisa umphakathi, ihlukanise nezizwe.

Umnumzane Msomi, “…Wenza ukuxazulula ukuxabana kwezingane zakhe kube iyona into yokugcina ayenzayo ngesikhathi esincane asele naso emhlabeni.”

Khona lapho, ngomlingisi onguScelo, siyakubona ukubaluleka komndeni: umkhulu wakhe nokuzalwa kwengane yakhe yentombazane encane kwasindisa impilo yakhe. Wayengumuntu onukubeza izidakamizwa kodwa umkhulu wakhe akazange adikibale ngaye, wambheka wamthola elahlekile, futhi unengane azoyiphilela.

Qhathanisa ‘inkolo yobubele’ kaMnumzane Msomi, kunaleyo eqinile ngokweqile yezingane zakhe: “Ngifuna ungithembise ukuthi lokhu engakwenzela khona, ukungalilahli ithemba ngawe, nawe uzobenzela abanye abantu. Ngiyakubona ukuthi ungumuntu onobubele. Ungalinge ukulahle lokho. Ngeke ngilale ngokuthula uma ulahla ububele bakho.”

Amazwi kaScelo aphendula ngawo, ekhuluma ngobaba wakhe nomalumekazi wakhe, anomlayezo obalulekile kule ndaba:

“Ngiyafisa babone ukuthi ukholo umuntu alukhethile akusho ukuthi wonke umuntu sekufanele ahambisane nalo. Abantu bahlukile emhlabeni, lokho kufanele kuhlonishwe.”

UMnumzane Msomi usebenzisa umuthi wesilungu, amakhambi esintu kaMbambo, kanye nomthandazo wobuKrestu, ezama ukuzisiza athole amandla okugcina. Utshela izingane zakhe ukuthi ufuna wonke umndeni wakhe uhlanganwe eplazini. Eplazini ubatshela konke akucabangayo: “Kuzifundisani izingane zenu lokhu enikwenzayo? Nizifundisa ukuba zizonde abantu abanezinkolelo ezihlukile kunezabo! Kufanele niyiyeke njengamanje le ndlela enicabanga ngayo!”

UMnumzane Msomi uyajabula ukuba seplazini kukhona wonke umndeni wakhe, kodwa okubuhlungu ukuthi akaphili isikhathi esanele ukubona ezingane zakhe zibuyisana. Noma kunjalo, ukushona kwakhe yikho okubenza baxolelane. UZinhle uyaxolisa kuMondli, naye uMondli axolise kuZinhle. Babuyisana bezilela ubaba wabo.

Sesiphothula, kukhona okunye okubili okubalulekile kule ndaba.

Okokuqala, uPastor Daniel ofika noZinhle ungesinye isibonelo esididayo senkolo ehambisana ne-‘fashion’ egcwele lapha eNingizimu Afrika: ulandelwa kwabafundisi baseNigeria (nabanye abaningi) nokholo lwabo oluhambisa imali phambili. UPastor Timothy Omotoso uyisibonelo esiseduze esigcwele ezindabeni: wasungula amasonto amaningi, kusolakala ukuthi abantu besifazane abasonta kuye bamlethela amantombazane adlula ku-30 ukuba awanukubeze ngokocansi. Futhi, usabakhumbula abantu balapha eNingizimu Afrika abangu-80 abashona esontweni lika-TB Joshua eladilika eLagos ngo-2014?

Uhulumeni ukhathazekile ngabafundisi mbumbulu abanukubeza abantu abahluphekileyo -babadlisa utshani, babafutha nge-Doom, babenzise nezinye izinto eziningi ezingenabo ubulungiswa. Yingakho ngonyaka ka-2017 uhulumeni wavula i-Commission of enquiry ezophenya ngakho konke lokhu. Le Commisssion yakugxeka kakhulu uku “… nukubezwa kwabantu emasontweni nenkolo ehambisa imali phambili,” ngokubeka kuka-Chairperson uThoko Mkhwanazi-Xaluva.*

Okwesibili yilokhu: ekugcineni kwendaba sithola ukuthi uMnumzane Msomi wabhala kwi-will ukuthi ufuna umzimba wakhe ushiswe, umlotha ulahlwe eplazini lakhe. Ukushiswa komzimba womuntu kuyisiko elidala, isibonelo esikhona manje ukuthi iyashiswa imizimba yabo bonke abantu abangamaHindu. Kodwa kuyinto engajwayelekile lapha eNingizimu Africa. Kodwa njengoba amathuna egcwala, iyaphela indawo yokungcwaba emadolobheni! Amadolobha afisa ukuba abantu bakhethe ukushiswa uma beshonile.* Ngabe izinkolo ezingalwenzi lolu siko zizovumelana nalo, ikakhulukazi ezikhathini zamanje njengoba abantu bethutheleka ngokushesha begcwala emadolobheni?
