Realeboga stood in the middle of the boxing ring his new WBC belt in one hand his IBF belt around his neck. He was back and on his way to becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. He spotted Elizabeth standing in the front row and reached down, taking both of her hands, he pulled her up into the ring. He grabbed her up in his arms and kissed her and the cameras flashed. Everyone knew this couple- the famous sports columnist and the talented boxer.

“You’re doing this,” Elizabeth said into his ear. “Your dream is coming true.”

“Thanks to you,” Realeboga said. “You showed me I could have my dream.”

Elizabeth hadn’t known love could be so wonderful. The crowd was still on their feet cheering. The noise was deafening. Elizabeth stood with Realeboga, his arm around her, as people came over to congratulate him. Then Realeboga called to Felix, Elizabeth couldn’t hear what he said.

Felix came over to them and took something out of his pocket and handed it to Realeboga. Suddenly, the stadium became quieter. People moved away from Realeboga and Elizabeth. She wasn’t sure what was happening, and then Realeboga was down on one knee. For Elizabeth there was a beautiful silence around them both and everyone disappeared. It was only her and her man.

“Elizabeth Boitumelo Nkala, my darling, my world, will you marry me?” Realeboga said.

She couldn’t speak. She was a mess, she wasn’t sure her legs would hold her. Her shirt was becoming wet with tears. Then she heard Marea’s voice shouting from somewhere she was not sure of. “Answer him before he changes his mind!”

The crowd laughed. Elizabeth nodded her head. “Yes, yes I would be honoured.”

He put the diamond ring on her finger and lifted her into his arms. He carried her around the ring. Elizabeth smiled until her cheeks ached. Some people might think getting proposed to in a boxing ring was not very romantic, but for her it was absolutely perfect.
