Should history be taught in schools or not? What are the benefits of teaching history?

I am the best and I like this subject very well
I think history should be taught at schools because you can never understand the future without knowing the past .for an example if u start reading a book from the middle to the end you might end up being confused or not understand what's going on you will go back to the first page to understand or find out why certain things happened at the end.So we have to learn about the past to understand or know how we got here or how things changed and why .HISTORY IS IMPORTANT .
Just brainwashing this country
The anc wants us to focus on what was done in the past because they not doing anything in the present yes history is a huge part of ones knowledge of who his her people come from and there struggles but in today's society people don't need a reminder we need skills and jobs why not teach men how to respect women in schools why not focus on more important things that'll will benefit this country? Because society is brainwashed
