“Vuyelwa!” The kids screamed, seeing Vuyelwa arrive at the gate. Everyone in the house went out to see Vuyelwa. After a time of greetings the family sat down.

“Oh, Vuyelwa my child, look at you. You are so thin, you clearly have not been eating for days,” her grandmother said.

“Don’t worry about me Gogo, it was just stress. I was stressed that I lost my only family. Grandmother, forgive me. My family, please forgive me. I did you wrong, I know I disgraced you and the family.” Vuyelwa knelt beside her grandmother while crying.

“We forgive you my child,” one of the uncles added. “Never do this to you grandmother again, she is your mother.” The family forgave Vuyelwa without condemning her.

“My child, I forgive you for everything. I know the devil was the one in charge of your life at that time. It’s great that you have come to your senses,” Gogo Keneilwe added. “Go make my friend some tea, ask Kagiso to help you, my friend and I have a lot to talk about.”

“Buti Kagiso, how are you holding up? I hear you are making a lot of money from taxi driving.”

“Taxis are just fine, it’s a lot of work but yeah, I’m coping.” Kagiso added, “But I am now into farming, I have already bought 12 cows, cash.”

“Cash, are you serious?” Said Vuyelwa. “Where did you get the money? But anyway, never mind, I know you are a hustler. But why are you not at work? Who are you running from?”

“Eish, you are asking a lot of questions neh,” said Kagiso. He looked to see if there was someone listening to their conversation. He continued, “Let’s just say there are some bad guys who claim that I stole their cows, now they want to kill me, so it’s better if I stay home until things cool down.”

“OK, let’s take the tea to the old ladies before it gets cold,” Vuyelwa concluded.

Kagiso held Vuyelwa and said, “Please, don’t tell anyone.”

“OK I won’t tell anyone. Now please, leave my hand,” said Vuyelwa.

“Here is your tea,” Kagiso said laughing while putting the tray down.
