The man carried Tobby and rushed to their house, and the dog followed. The woman thought it was better to keep Tobby in their house and treat him because she was a nurse. She treated all Tobby’s wounds, dipped a white cloth into the warm water and wiped off the dry blood Tobby had on him. She covered all the scratches and wounds with bandages then left him resting on a small comfortable bed and the dog laid next to him.
Early in the morning, the second day after Tobby had run away from his mother’s house. He thought he was home when he woke up. He jumped off the bed and almost hurt himself only to realise that he wasn’t home. He had a sudden feeling of distress but quickly remembered all that had happened. He noticed that his knee wasn’t badly injured. Tobby limped towards the door and slowly opened it to see what was on the other side. He was in a bedroom of a small house built of planks. He saw the dog wagging its tail while eating next to a man and woman having breakfast.
“Morning elders, where am I?” asked Tobby politely, looking sad. The man and woman stared at each other. The man pulled out a chair and told Tobby to take a seat.
The woman stood up and went to make Tobby some breakfast. While she made breakfast, the man introduced himself and the woman he was with, “My name is Jens Müller and this is my wife here, Angela Müller,” Jens said, pointing to his wife.
“We found you laying on the sand at the beach. You were not looking good and my wife and I insisted on helping you. You are currently located in one of the North Frisian Islands in Hamburg. Do you mind explaining to us what happened?”
“I’m from England, my mom and I had an argument about me visiting my dad in Germany. I was running away and got onto a truck which was heading to the shipping dock. I was locked in a container, seemingly it was coming this side. I guess I’m lost,” Tobby explained.
“What’s your father’s name?” asked Angela.
“David, David Laurance” said Tobby.
Angela quickly asked again with full attention, bringing a tray with Tobby’s breakfast on the table, “Is your father a doctor, a medical doctor?”
“Yes, yes he is, in one of the hospitals in Germany. Do you know him?” asked Tobby, looking astonished.
Jens giggled and responded, “The ship must have left you in the right place after all. You are in Germany, young man”
