Just when I was about to lock the door to try and satisfy my wife, my office phone rang.

“Yes Liz,”

“Mr Zwane you have a client.”

“I didn’t know I had any appointments lined up for today.”

“It’s a Mrs October, she says it’s urgent.”

“Okay, I’ll see her in a minute.”

As much as I loved some fun, it was a relief to have to go attend the client. After some wild time with Nomsa I always found myself worn out.

“Baby, I’m sorry it’s urgent.” I said buttoning up Mantoa’s coat. “Don’t look so disappointed Mantoa.”

“Sbu, you are never home and when you finally decide to show up, you never touch me. Don’t tell me about disappointments.”

“I’m so sorry Honey, I’ll make it up to you I promise.”

“That’s what you always say,” she said with tears in her eyes.

“You know what, I’ll knock off earlier today and come home straight away.”

“Don’t bother.” She said walking out, taking the lunch box she prepared for me with her.

I didn’t run behind her because I was in no mood for a scene. I adjusted my tie, took a cloth in one of my drawers, made sure my shoes were to do and went to reception to go check out Mrs October. I found her at reception, reading a magazine, her caramel skin lighting up the place and her scent filling up the entire building.

“Liz, is that her?” I mouthed. She nodded picking up the phone ringing on her desk. I went to her.

“Mrs October, Mr Zwane here.” I introduced myself. She got up and shook my hand, her soft skin caressing mine.

“Mr Zwane, I heard you are one of the best lawyers in town.” “Of course Ma’am, can we take this to my office?”

She picked up her purse and put the magazine on the table. I walked behind her, admiring her sexy body. I started walking at the same pace with her when Liz threw a warning look in my direction. We got in my office and I pulled out a chair for her. I asked Liz to bring us coffee and she opted for herbal tea. Dialed Reception!

Akere watseba le wena gore there is no herbal tea?” Liz complained and I put the receiver down.

“Mrs October, it seems we ran out of herbal tea, if you don’t mind we could go enjoy it downstairs in one of my favourite restaurants.

“Mr Zwane, I’m not here for herbal tea but to discuss my marriage.”

“Okay, what about your marriage?”

I took a sit behind my desk, disappointed that she turned down my offer to take her out enjoy herbal tea; not that I was a “herbal tea” fan. Something told me behind those cold eyes there was a wild horse hiding somewhere.

“Me and my husband are divorcing and I want you to represent me.”

“Who in their right mind would agree to divorce you, if you don’t mind me asking?”

“So how are you going to charge me?” she was so serious.“Whoa slow down Ma’am. Fill me in about this whole divorce situation and we will discuss fees afterwards.” She told me about her and her husband’s fights, all I could hear was my heart beating so hard in my chest. That was one woman I would have loved to see on top of me, client or not. I sure as hell was gonna work hard to get her. We finalized things and made an appointment for our next meeting. She stood up, shook my hand and picked up her purse and phone on my desk.

“Mrs October, anything else I can do for you other than representing you?”

“No, thank you.” She marched to the door.

“Perhaps you should take my card, in case you find yourself in need of my assistance. This is my private cell number.” “I’d rather not.”

“Please, I insist. Anything, anytime, call me.”

She hesitated then took the card in my hand and left. I found myself praying that she doesn’t throw it in the nearest bin. I checked on some of the files of the cases I was working on, remembered that I hadn’t had lunch, and then decided to knock off anyway. I picked up my briefcase, shone my shoes, and adjusted my tie. With one hand inside the pocket of my suit trouser I left the office.

At the reception I found Liz sulking. “What was that all about?” she clicked her tongue in answer and looked the other way. “Liz I’m your boss, watch your tone when you speak to me especially when clients are around.”

“Sbu, dropa atitude le go hlwa o itira wena the decent lawyer, Mrs October is gone, who are you trying to impress?”

“You know you look so sexy when you are jealous.”

“I’m not jealous,”

“I miss your touch. What did you say you are wearing under that sexy dress?”

“Nothing,” she said smiling.

“You should ask Primrose to cover for you and pay me a visit in my office.” She giggled. “Sharp baby ne!”

“I need to do my eyelashes and nails.” She said softly.

“I’ll send you an e-wallet just now.” I looked around to see who was coming, spanked her ass and left.
