When there was a knock on the door, Monroe got up from the couch nervous and unsure whether to open for anyone. With all of Lindi’s rules, he didn’t know what was right or wrong anymore.

“Sister Lindi?” Monroe asked, hoping it would be her, but it wasn’t.

“Roy, it’s me. Summer, please open up.”

Monroe smiled a huge smile when he heard Summer’s voice and rushes to open the door. He hugged her tightly, not wanting to let her go.

“What are you doing here?” Monroe said, smiling because he was excited to see his new friend.

“When I got home I couldn’t stop thinking about you and everything that’s going on. I couldn’t stop thinking about what you are,” Summer said.

Monroe looked down shyly and then held Summer’s hands. “I can explain everything,” he said.

The feelings that were growing for this girl were irresistible for Monroe. He felt as if he could be honest with her about everything, even if he’d just met her that day. The connection he was having with her was uncontrollable.

“You don’t have to explain anything.” Summer said, and Monroe felt confused. “I know who you are and what you are,” she went on. “Now I want to show you what I am.”

Looking at Summer, Monroe felt shocked thinking if the girl might be the same as him. “What do you mean?” he asked, sounding impatient. “What are you?”

“I can’t show here. Please come with me.”

After saying that, Summer walked past Monroe, but Monroe didn’t move. He wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to leave the house after Lindi had told him not to go anywhere.

“Please, Roy,” Summer said, trying to convince Monroe. “It’s not far from the building. Just down the street at the trees.”

Zakhele fought the creature on the left with the hunting knife. The creature tried to strike its claws at him, but it was too predictable for Zakhele and he dodged all the attacks. He then used his hunting knife to cut the creature’s burnt skin in every spot, including the body, arms, legs and creepy face. The knife was perfect for the job because it had a straight potion for cutting.

Kerina finished off the creature she was fighting with her combat knife, stabbing it on the neck and slitting its throat. Meanwhile, Lindi unlocked the blade of her automatic knife, and she quickly slit the creature’s throat, twice.

“You see, we’re stronger if we work as a team,” Zakhele said, smiling at Lindi and trying to persuade her to join his team.

“And we really don’t need another member on the team,” Kerina said, and Lindi rolled her eyes as she already figured out her attitude.

Lindi felt her phone vibrating in her jean pocket. She pulled it out and saw Monroe’s movement on the GPS. “Shit,” she said. “Monroe is out of the building. I need to go.”

“Wait, I’ll come with you. He might be in trouble,” Zakhele said.

Lindi nodded her head in agreement, and Zakhele instructed Kerina to stay behind and burn the creatures.

“Oh come on,” Kerina said, sounding disappointed. “I’d also love to meet the mysterious kid.”

Zakhele and Lindi ran off, leaving Kerina with a surrendering sigh. She then looked at the dead creatures and felt disgusted.
