So now Austin and I were officially engaged, but traditionally we were married. I went to kotiza at his home, and even though he had no parents, he did have close family members that he absolutely loved and respected. The traditional wedding was set for December, reason being that everyone would be available at that time. We would first do the traditional wedding on Saturday, then the white wedding on Sunday. It promised to be a fun, big and expensive wedding, and yeah, it might have just appeared in Our Perfect Wedding or, dare I dream, Top Billing.

Austin and I saw each other every day, so it made no financial sense for us to rent different apartments. My man was money-wise, just the way I loved them. Remember that he bought me a car? Well, he still took and fetched me from work every day. We were inseparable, and I got along great with his friends, so we often went on double dates, just to spice things up.

After moving into a bigger apartment, Austin’s cousin moved in with us for a while, just until he got solid work. He was an aspiring photographer. You should have seen the pictures of us he had taken. We had thousands of everyday pictures.

Now, my man was a dancer, and he knew how to move, so every day was a dance lesson for this stiff, old body of mine. And although we could not sing to save our lives, we sang our lungs out. You would have sworn we had known each other for years. We finished each other’s sentences, knew each other’s likes and dislikes, and I knew everything about him and he knew everything about me. For the honeymoon, he had planned for us to go to New York for one of Drake’s live performance. Now, everyone knew I was afraid of flying and sailing, so before he booked anything, he had to make sure I was up for it. He asked me and I refused, and he could not believe I passed on an opportunity to see Drake live, but it made no sense for me to risk my life for a fantasy.

My reality was finally better than my dreams, and I had a man that did everything right. It was as if God had taken my list, read it word for word, and made my wish his command. So Drake? Who’s Drake? I had my dream man, so I could not afford to die. I did not even think heaven could be that good. My baby was a hunk, medium height (tall compared to me), light in complexion, body well structured, and his clothes, Jesus, my baby had fashion sense. He was gorgeous, and just everything I wanted and needed all wrapped up in one package.
