“Do you remember the dream you had about me when I was in hospital?” Sipho heard Naledi’s voice say, but she was not there.
“Yes, I remember the dream, why?” he responded.
“I think it is time I let you know who I really am. Are you ready?” she asked.
“It is about damn time,” Sipho responded, looking around expecting Naledi to show up.
“You asked for it,” the voice said, and a very loud scream followed, which made Sipho jot out of his sleep. It was a dream again.
When Sipho woke up, he turned the light on, sat himself up against the headboard, and propped his head on his sweaty hands. He pondered about how his life was drastically changing since he met Naledi. He had always had strange dreams, but recently he started fainting and having memory loss. He remembered how Naledi used to say and do weird things, and he wished he could know what was going on in her head.
The thing that scared him even more was the way he had fallen head-over-heels in love with her. She was always on his mind, and his mood would even drop faster than a bolt of lightning whenever he missed her.
The following day, he woke up hunched as if he had not slept a wink. He did everything and headed to work, but that Monday turned out to be the longest day of his life. He finally knocked off and head back to his crib. When he got to the gate at his place, he noticed that the door to his room was open. He then strode in, curious to see what was going on.
“What the hell? Why did you stop letting me know you are going to be using my room while I am not around?” he asked, getting really mad over nothing, actually.
“Whoa-whoa, I know it is your house, but budging in like that does not work for me. What is going on?” Naledi asked, trying to act as though she was not frightened.
“You are in my room and I did not know, that is what is going on,” he responded. “What are you doing here?”
“I missed you, and wanted to be closer to you, and your room was the only place I could feel closer to you in. I am sorry, I am just going to get going, then,” she said, going to pick up her phone from the bed, and then came back to Sipho. She then gave him a peck on the cheek and left.
After Naledi left, Sipho just stood there dumbfounded. He missed her very badly and wanted to run after her, but he just could not act on it. He then threw himself on the bed, but the more he ignored the fact that he missed her, the more he got angry and pissed. After a while, he called her because he could not take it anymore, but her phone went straight to voicemail. He tried a few more times, but he could not reach her.
“Agh! Where are you?” he screamed loudly, and then threw his phone against the wall with anger.
After a while, he paced up and down the room and kicked nothing here and there. He could not believe himself when he was finally calm. He had never dreamed of himself doing something as crazy as that in his whole life. He wondered what was happening, and he never stopped asking himself that question.
Tell us: What do you think might be the cause for Sipho’s anger?
