“Get ready. I will be back in a few minutes to get you so make it quick,” he said and immediately left.

I was left puzzled because I never got the chance to go out. I kept wondering what went through his mind.

Maybe he realised his mistakes and planned something special to apologise to me. I laughed at the stupid thought, as I was applying shower gel on my body. By the time I was done, he was back with an outfit I was going to wear. It was a black velvet tight short dress. I looked at it then back at him.

“What?” he asked giving me an intimidated look.

That was my que to say no more. Though I wore the dress, I was not comfortable.

“Hurry up, I don’t want to be late,” he concluded.

It was one long silent drive and finally we reached our destination. It was one of those abandoned places with a single building. It seemed to be a warehouse. There were also a few cars around.

“What are we doing here?” I asked with a trembled voice.

“Just follow me, a lot is coming your way,” he gave me his smirk as always.

I just followed him inside and there we met some of his friends.

“So, have you brought the goodie?” one of his friends asked

“Can we start already? I want to get this over with quickly,” Joshua replied, he seemed unsettled.

After five minutes we were joined by a group of girls who were only in panties and bras. I wonder what was going on. Whatever it was, I did not want to be involved but wasn’t it too late for that?

“Joshua please take me home,” I told him.

He just stood there like he could not hear me.

“I’m sorry Goodness,” he said.

I was lost. He sounded really apologetic.

“I didn’t mean for any of this to happen and it’s all my fault. I hope one day when you wake up you’ll find it in your heart to forgive me,” he started sobbing and I felt sorry for him but I had to find out what he was on about.

“What’s going on?” I asked with curiosity written on my face.

“This is not all babe,” he just called me babe after so long and my heart just melted right away, “as your name says it,” he continued, “you’ve been good to me from the beginning and whatever I’ve been doing to you, you don’t deserve any of that. I’m such a coward you know and I don’t deserve you. I’ll have to let you go for good. It will be hard but I’m sure we’ll both get used to it as time goes. Goodbye my love, always know that I loved you and I’ll never stop no matter what. What is about to happen to you don’t deserve it but it’s better than having you dead,” he said.

I stood there like a zombie. My mind zoned out and it kicked in that I’m being sold to some human traffickers. So this is it, my own husband selling me to monsters. I lost all the energy I had in me to fight anymore. I just looked at him and I could see it in his eyes that he was really hurting. I wanted answers but there was nowhere to get them. He left me there and all the girls were staring at me. I’m sure they had all sorts of questions. He was supposed to protect me and not feed me to the lions. I was going to be stuck with this life when he will be out there moving on with his life like I never existed. I thought of my parents and the lies Joshua was going to feed them. The one angel I had in my life turned out to be a devil that filled my soul with darkness. I was done with life.
