Before they took another step, the guy’s boss asked where was he going because his lunch was over.

“I have to take this woman to the Cele house, boss. She doesn’t know the way and I’m scared she might get lost on her own,” he explained to his employer, who stood at the entrance with his arms folded with an unpleasant look on his face.

“What’s your business with the Celes?” he asked, as he gazed at Qhawekazii.

“I’m afraid I can’t discuss that with you Mnumzane (Sir),” she replied, and the boss stared at her with a glare.

“In 10 minutes, I want you’re a** back here,” he said back to his employee. “If not, don’t bother coming back and start looking for another job.”

With that, he turned his back and marched back inside, leaving the guy rolling his eyes and telling Qhawekazii to go.

“Your boss seemed like a rude man,” said Qhawekazii as they crossed the road.

“I don’t mind him anymore,” he said with a cheerful voice. “He always makes threats to everyone like that. But he has no actions. He just wants us to know that he is the boss, and he is the one making rules,”

Qhawekazii chuckled.

“My name is Fana by the way,” he added with a smile.

“You really are a boy,” she teased, and they both laughed.

“I’m pretty sure we’re the same age when I look at you,”

“Don’t let this face fool you. I’m old enough to be your sister,” she lied, hoping he got intimidated by her. She had heard stories about older women, how they intimidate small boys.

“Well, I’m pretty sure I could handle any woman, even if she were old enough to be my mother,” Qhawekazii chuckled.

“You sure about that?” she asked.

“Absolutely. Don’t let this face fool you. It’s much more than you think,” the voice spoke with pride and determination.

Qhawekazii looked at him for a second, then flashed a weak smile. Somehow, she was taken by his words. It seemed like he was a boy that didn’t like being underestimated. She was also feeling a little more comfortable around him.

They continued walking and turned into a corner that had a car wash next to it.

“This is one of the coolest places around this section,” he said as they passed by it quickly.

“Maybe one day I will bring you here,” he added.

“And what makes you think I will agree?” he chuckled.

“Because I don’t think you’d mind experiencing places around your neighbourhood,” she chuckled, and said, “And what makes you think I’d want to experience those places with you?” she cocked her brow. Fana gazed at her with a smile.

“Because I’m the first guy you met, who is helping you find the house you’re looking for,” he replied with a smirk.

“Oh, so basically I’d owe you for helping me?” she asked, and he nodded.

“Clever thinking,” they both laughed.

They turned into the next corner and passed the water tank, behind it, there was the house they were going to, it was a big peach coloured house. It was beautiful with tinted aluminium windows and air conditioning. They marched inside through the unlocked gate and Fana knocked on the door twice as they stood at the doorway while Qhawekazii was feeling nervous.
