The following morning, Kimberly and her two best friends were walking when Vusi, VV and Royce, the DC members, laughed at them.

“Hey, you pigs, what are you laughing at?” Kimberly turned and shouted. “Is the word ‘joke’ written anywhere on our clothes?”

“Who are you that we should laugh at you?” Vusi gave Kimberly a once over look and turned to his friend.

“Hello! I am the President’s daughter! Is being the President’s daughter a joke? And who are you, the farmer’s son?”

“I am the guy who is smarter than you! And you think you are the queen of this campus or President’s little princess! Go and tell the king to save you from sinking in the mud, walk away with your little piglets!”

Kimberly looked around and found people watching and some were even laughing. She turned and walked away. She didn’t attend any of her classes; she headed home. Kimberly arrived at home, in the big mansion in Sandton; a house surrounded by bodyguards, and ran to her bedroom without talking to anyone. She lay on the bed and asked herself some questions, “Who am I? Am I just the President’s daughter? I know I am living a fancy life, but is this all? I am angry inside, when will all this end? I am dreaming big!” Tears were falling from her eyes.

Her phone rang; a number she didn’t even know was showing, jolting her out of her misery. She wiped her eyes and answered.

“Hello,”

“Hey K,” it was a woman’s voice. “Remember me, Traci?”

“Hey girl, long time no see or hear,” she replied with a smile on her face.

“You’re right; it’s been a long time. Hey, I’m inviting you to my welcome back party tonight, so get ready now. You know my house right?”

“Yeah, I know your house, see you later,”

Traci was the daughter of one of the richest families and had gone to study in America.

The party was awesome. By midnight Kimberly was so drunk she couldn’t walk straight. She called Traci to the car with one other boy. Kimberly was introduced to drugs that night.

Pride went too far and her two best friends were long gone and she was left with only drugs and Traci who was a drug addict. Kimberly and Traci knew almost every drug dealer in town. Her former best friends lost control of her and were sick of her behavior, so they were forced to leave her. She still lived the life of glamour. But she was a different kind of girl.
