I was cuddling with Sbu on the soft hotel bed. We had been together for only three months, but he knew how to make a lady feel special. He was emotionally and physically present. I sometimes forgot I had a boyfriend back home.

“I want this moment to last forever,” I said.

“I love you, Phumza,” he whispered in my ear, while his hand was brushing between my thighs.

“I love you too but let’s not go there.” I moved his hand.

“You know that I can’t have enough of you, just one last time,” he said.

“We have fifteen minutes,” I giggled, as he covered us with a blanket.

In a moment, my cellphone rang. He pinned my hands to the bed when I tried to reach for it, and kissed me.

Later on that day I met with Noxolo at the park. We’ve been friends from childhood, and after matric we decided to come to the same varsity to study psychology.

“Where have you been? I called you several times this morning,” she said.

“I’ve been busy lately,” I smiled.

“I hope not with that idiot called Sbu.” She gave me a bottle of water.

“I’ve never felt like that before, he knows how to press the right buttons,” I giggled.

“You don’t even know him yet. Have you ever thought about Sakhele’s feelings?” She stared at me.

“Forget about Sakhele’s feelings, he will get his type!” I said.

“His type? So now you’re no longer his type?” she asked.

“A pretty girl like me deserves a rich and muscular man.” I closed my eyes trying to imagine Sbu.

“What if this guy is married? Have you ever wondered why you have to meet at the hotel? Oh you can’t even post him on social media!” She raised her voice.

“You are just jealous because I’m prettier than you and no one ever asks you out. Who would want to go with a plain ugly girl like you?” I yelled at her.

“You don’t mean what you just said.” Her voice lowered, and she pulled a long face.

“What’s the use of speaking to someone who has a small brain?” I stood up and left without noticing that I had forgotten my backpack.

I got to my lavish apartment, which Sbu was paying for. I was making a snack when I had horrible stomach cramps and nausea. I tried to run to the bathroom but I fell on the floor. Then Nox came in carrying my bag, and she came to my rescue. I was getting weaker, so she called an ambulance to take me to hospital.
