One day as she was sitting at the merry-go-round the boy was approaching her.
“Hey there, how are you today?” he asked.
Miranda didn’t reply.
“My name is Ahlume and I would like to know you better. But only if you don’t mind. If you do, just chase me away,” Ahlume pleaded.
Miranda couldn’t say anything. All she did was to stare at him as if she was watching something. She was so calm and curious.
“Why are you looking at me like that? You are studying me! I’m so amazed. I learned that you’re deaf so you can’t hear or talk to me,” Ahlume said.
They had a strong connection that neither of them could explain. It was as if they were attracted and pulled by a magnet. They moved towards each other. Ahlume hugged her. Miranda felt so safe for the first time. She could hear his heart for the first time. Minutes went by and still they were in each other’s arms. They began kissing. Ahlume kissed her passionately and gently.
“From the first time I saw you, my heart melted and I couldn’t understand why. I was in love with you. You are like the moon and therefore I name you Sunshine. I couldn’t sleep that day thinking about you. Your eyes are so pure as if they are a sparking diamond. I felt your warmth and love. Even though you can’t hear me but I believe your heart does. You are so innocent that I see my younger self in you, my mistake are all written in your eyes and I see myself in those eyes. You are the girl I dreamt of, my guardian angel. I can feel your kindness and I see your heart through your eyes. You took all I have. You made me stupid. I’ve never seen such beauty and I believe that you are the daughter of heaven,” he said still hugging her.
Miranda could hear for the first time in her life! She hugged him as if she was going to lose him! Hours went by and they didn’t want to let go of one another.
One night they went by the sea. The moon and the stars were dancing. They were watching the stars. They gazed at them for ours till it was dark. They couldn’t see anything but could feel each other’s presence. They then looked at each other’s eyes, Miranda’s eyes being their light in the darkness.
“I love you Sunshine,” Ahlume said sincerely.
She looked at him adoring her.
“I love you too,” a voice replied.
Ahlume was so shocked and in disbelief.
“What was that?” he asked.
Miranda smiled. “I’m the voice of the heart that you stole,” Miranda said.
Her voice was calm, sweet, perfect and loving. Ahlume thought he was going crazy. He didn’t know that it was her speaking.
They spent the night at the beach and the next morning they woke up in each other’s arms.
“Hello.” Miranda greeted.
“You can talk! Wow! I didn’t know that you have dimples. They are so cute!” Ahlume said in excitement. “So what are you called?” he asked all smiling.
“My name is Miranda and yes I can talk. I was that voice speaking to you last night.”
Ahlume couldn’t believe his eyes and ears. He was so amazed. He couldn’t believe it. He looked at her and Miranda looked beautiful. Ahlume could wait any longer, he just kissed her. They kissed as if they were seeing each other for the last time.
“Will you marry me?”
“Yes!”
The lovebirds made their way home and shared the news with their families. Their love was undeniable, it was the reason for this miracle.
