After some months it was found out that Miranda was pregnant. She was hurt but happy. She knew the child was a product of rape but she wanted to give her the kind of love she never had. She was going to love her unconditionally. Unfortunately she lost the child.

This caused more sorrow in her life. She couldn’t explain the pain she was feeling as she couldn’t tell her mother Marry who had impregnated her. But her new mother understood what her daughter was going through. She knew that people were sometimes cruel and that they often took advantage and mistreated those with physical disabilities. Miranda was not alone, her mother was there for her and helped her to heal. Over time, Miranda found life and again, started to heal and started to smile again.

One day she went to the park by herself just to clear her mind. It was a beautiful summer Saturday and the park was full of people. There were couples cuddling and kids playing. She watched the kids playing and wished she was just like them. She wished she could talk and hear but she couldn’t. She just watched them as tears fell from her eyes.

“Hello!” a voice said but Miranda couldn’t hear it.

For the first time she felt someone was behind her and she turned. She didn’t reply because she didn’t hear him. She just looked at him and studied his body.

“What’s wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?” he asked.

Miranda just stared at him without saying any words. The boy was puzzled but he kept talking to her.

“Wow! Your eyes are so beautiful. They are like the moon. They are so bright!” he said.

Miranda’s lips were moving but her voice couldn’t be heard. She desperately needed to talk but she couldn’t.

“Why are you not answering me? At least say something that would make me feel better. Say something please!” he begged.

Miranda walked away without saying anything. The boy pulled her and they were caught in each other’s gaze for minutes.

“You look like an angel. I know I haven’t seen one but you look like one. I can see the future in your eyes. Your beauty… I’ve never seen one like you. My dream and only wish for now is for you to be mine. I want to be yours. Please think about it.”

The mystery boy walked away. Miranda was looking at him as he walked. It was as if she heard every word that he was saying.

For days to come Miranda was miles away. It was as if she was comatose after being struck by lightning. She was thinking about her mysterious boy.

Weeks went by and there was no sign of the boy. Miranda kept going to the park, hoping to meet up with him. She couldn’t understand why but her heart was her guardian. She was hopeless.
