It was a rainy day when Lesego came running down the street and bumped into Thulile. It was as if he was seeing an angel. She was the most beautiful girl Lesego had ever met.

“Hey, how are you?” asked Thulile.

“I’m good,” replied Lesego.

“I’m new around here, so do you mind showing me around?” He flashed a smile.

“I don’t mind but definitely not today as you can see the weather is bad.” She returned the flirty smile and went their separate ways.

“Even a blind person could really sense chemistry between the two of you,” said Thulile’s big sister Nothando, pinching her on the arm.

“Whatever, sis!”

“If it wasn’t because of the rain, the two of you would have kissed,” Nothando continued.

“Yuck, Nothando! I wouldn’t do such a thing.”

“You wouldn’t do what thing?” asked their mother.

“We’re talking about our own things mom,” said Nothando.

“Okay children, I want to buy myself a few things so can we go together?” asked their mother.

“We would like to go mama,” the girls said.

“Okay then go to bath and prepare yourselves!”

They bought all kind of clothes they wanted and went back home. They fitted their clothes and they were perfect.

Later that day the rain stopped and they chilled outside with their friends Lesedi, Natasha and Calvin. Calvin was Nothando’s boyfriend. Lesedi was Nothando’s friend and Natasha was Thulile’s friend. While they were chilling, they saw Lesego and called him.

“Hey, who are you?” asked Natasha.

“My name is Lesego, I’m new in this area and what are your names?” They all greeted and introduced themselves.

“I should be on my way now.” He hurried.

“Bye,” said Thulile and they all turned to look at her.

“What?” they asked.

“Nothing.”

Then Ms Molefe said the girls should go back to the house since it was getting late and they said their goodbyes to their friends. Nothando kissed Calvin goodbye and good night. And as for poor Lesego, he thought Thulile had a boyfriend.

“Natasha really confused me, I don’t know if Thulile has a boyfriend or not, I don’t understand what she meant when she introduced her friends. Is Calvin Thulile’s or Nothando’s boyfriend? But he looked too old to be Thulile’s boyfriend but again, you would never know. I’m really confused,” Lesego thought out loud.
The following day was Monday, Nothando and Thulile went to school. Nothando and her friend were in the same class. Calvin was in the class next door to theirs. Thulile and her friend were also in the same class. Right in the morning there was an announcement in Thulile’s class that there was going to be a new boy in their class. Thulile had already guessed that it would be Lesego. She was very welcoming towards him. During break time, Lesego asked to be Thulile’s friend and she said yes. As days went by, Thulile started to ignore Natasha and gave Lesego way too much attention.

A week later they bumped into each other at school.

“Thulile, do you want to go to the mall with me today after school?” asked Natasha.
“No thank you, I am going with Lesego,” replied Thulile.
After school, Thulile went home and changed quickly to go to the mall with Lesego. When they were there, they spent time together, bought chips and fed each other. After that they met Natasha and she said, “Hey you guys, do you mind if I join you?”

“Oh shame sorry but we’ve got to dash.” And off they went.

They decided to walk home so they could spend time together. They ran after each other as they were tickling one another and hugging. As they were busy doing crazy stuff, they accidentally kissed. It felt normal for Lesego since it was not his first time but as for Thulile, it was as if she was floating. Finally, Lesego asked Thulile out and she said, “Yes!”

She arrived late at home and her mother was very angry and worried.

“So now you think you are old enough to do as you please?”

“No, mommy, I’m very sorry,” replied Thulile.

“Where were you?”

“Mommy, I was at the mall with Natasha.”

“You’d better be telling the truth. Next time it will be more than this,” her mother said. Lesego’s mother was also concerned about her son. He apologised for coming home late and her mom let it slide.
They chatted all night with his girl.
