I woke up as usual, ran a warm shower and had my breakfast then went to class. It was Friday and Jessie wasn’t back so I decided to text her to know if she was OK.

Hey, you didn’t come back, everything OK?

Yes sorry sweety I got caught up with my boyfriend, I’ll see you later loveiii…

OK

I smiled at her silly response when I felt something bump into me and my books were scattered on the floor.

“I am so sorry,” a boy said as he helped me pick up my books from the floor.

“It’s nothing don’t be sorry about,” I said as I picked the last book and kept going.

I went to class and since it was Friday, we didn’t have much lessons, just three then our day was over. We were given an assignment, not just any assignment, but a group assignment – my greatest weakness.

This time I was lucky because our lecturer grouped us according to the class register. At least I wasn’t going to look for people I didn’t even know for the entire day. After class I went straight to the library to look for a certain book I needed for another project. I then went back to my room since our hostel was located inside the campus. Jessie wasn’t back yet but I wasn’t surprised at all. It was actually midday when I heard a knock on the door and I knew it was her.

“I thought you have your key with…” it wasn’t her.

“Hello,” it was the boy from earlier.

I went cold for few minutes, not that I didn’t know what to say but I was just surprised. How did he find me? I was overthinking so much that I ended up gazing at him without blinking.

“Sorry, hey,” I finally responded.

“I am sorry if I interrupted you,” he took out something out of his bag. “I tried to stop you earlier today when I bumped into you and give you your journal, but I guess you didn’t hear me,” he said.

“I am sorry, surely I was listening to some music and I didn’t hear you, and thank you,” I took my journal.

“And I am sorry for what happened earlier, I was rushing somewhere,” he said as he turned to the walk away.

“Hey… wait, how did you find my room?” I had to ask or I was going to die of curiosity.

“Written on your journal,” he smiled and left.

I closed the door and stood against it, frozen and shocked. I wasn’t expecting that person when I went to get the door. I went to my computer to find a distraction, but I couldn’t get one. So I closed it and listened to music, hopeful of getting the guy off my mind.

“Wakey-wakey, I am back!”

I must’ve fallen asleep on my study table because it was already dark outside.

“Hey, I didn’t hear you coming in,”

“How many times have I told you to stop sleeping on the study table?”

“Numerous times and I am so sorry you know I was stu…”

“Studying, studying, studying every time!”

We spoke about her outing and other things until we both fell asleep talking. I loved her a lot even though we were from different worlds, somehow, somewhere our spirits allied and she was more like a sister to me.

We slept until midday the following day since it was Saturday. We decided to go shopping, after all my closet needed some change. I was a fan of jeans and long-sleeved t-shirts, all black to be specific. I never owned a dress yet I was girl. She on the other hand owned plenty of miniskirts with stilettos and I admire her unblemished body; it was worth showing off in public while my story was different.
