The academic year was coming to an end and the final examinations were fast approaching. Kabwe was more than ready for the exams. That same year his cousins also sat for their examination. Kabwe’s uncle was pressuring him, saying that if he failed the examination, Kabwe would be forced to leave the house. But when the results were released, Kabwe was the highest at his school and was offered a scholarship to study abroad. All his cousins failed the examination but none of them left the house.

By now Kabwe and Misozi were more than friends, they were lovers. Misozi was there each time Kabwe was sad. She cheered him up, she talked to him. She was a dear friend but now their relationship was headed for destruction.

Kabwe was going to leave the country and probably find another girlfriend so she said to him, “Kabwe please don’t go, I love you, don’t leave me alone in this country, I can’t survive without you.”

Hearing this Kabwe said, “Misozi life has been unfair on my part. Once upon a time I had all I needed in life but now I am nothing. Just let me go and study abroad so that I can change my reality for the better.”

Misozi cried as she watched Kabwe who was about to leave, not knowing if he would come back for her.

The news reached his uncle and he was filled with jealousy, seeing that all his children failing but Kabwe, who he hated so much, going abroad.

Finally the day of departure came, but Kabwe was nowhere to be seen. He was locked in the house by his uncle, only to let him out ten days after the departure date.

The day he left the house he vowed never to return again. He spent cold nights on the streets because all his belongings were confiscated and he couldn’t contact Misozi.

Misozi thought Kabwe had left the country so she also decided to apply for a scholarship hoping that destiny would bring them back together whilst abroad. Coincidentally the day Misozi was going to hand in her application, was the same day Kabwe went to see the government agency that was sponsoring him to study abroad. He tried to explain but no one listened to him. Luckily as he was leaving the building he saw a taxi stop outside the building and out of it came his one and only Misozi.

They both couldn’t believe their eyes. Indeed, destiny brought them back together. She believed his story and her father was determined to get justice for Kabwe.

And so his uncles not knowing what was about to befall them continued their daily life until one by one the authorities visited them and that was their downfall.

Everything that was unfairly taken by his uncles was returned as per the law of the land and Kabwe was at the helm of it all. Everyone who treated him badly started begging him, but he didn’t give them anything.

Instead of going abroad he took over his father’s business and married Misozi and they lived happily ever after.
