“Good morning class.”

“Good morning sir!”

“How are you all?”

“We are fine, thank you sir,” all the students responded, except Mangoshia.

“Our lesson today is about pollution…”

All the students concentrated in class and showed much interest, all but Mangoshia. The teacher went further with the topic up to the end. He then asked a Mangoshia what he had learnt but Mangoshia could not answer. All his attention had been on a certain beautiful young girl named Doreen.

“Answer me you!” The teacher spoke angrily.

“I…I…I don’t know,” Mangoshia stammered.

“You…you…don’t know…” his teacher said, just then the rain started falling.

All the leaners ran to the hall for shelter because the class was outside. There, a certain little girl laughed and words were exchanged about Mangoshia failing to answer a simple question given by his teacher. Without thinking, he went straight to where the laughter was coming from and threw a 50 pound heavy blow. It missed the girl and hit Doreen instead, who stood next to them.

Great pain circulated in the girl’s body and crying of a new born baby was heard. The head teacher came out to see what all the commotion was about.

“What the hell is going on here!?” The teacher asked.

“It’s a little notorious lad. He’s in class 2B next to 3A,” Doreen’s friend, Thoko answered.

“It’s Mangoshia,” Doreen answered while cleaning up her face.

“Mangoshia! My son?” The teacher wondered. “What has he done?!”

“He just came here and beat my friend without any reason.”

“I’ll see what to do. A special lesson will be given to him,” the head teacher said.

The head teacher was Mangoshia’s father. He then encouraged the children to put effort in their education before he left to his office.

“Thoko, the rain has stopped, let’s go home now,” Doreen said after the teacher had gone.

“Mmm we should wait for the bell,” Thoko said.

“You should be the one waiting for it,” Doreen spoke while leaving her friend.

“Hey young girl…” Doreen heard a voice call behind her as she was walking. She didn’t look back, instead she increased her steps. Within seconds her ears circulated with apologetic voices. It was when she realized that it was Mangoshia.

“I’m really sorry for whatever I have done,” the lad spoke while gazing at her.

Doreen didn’t respond, she continued walking. He didn’t give up, he followed her.

“Please forgive me. Your forgiveness will be my happiness,” Mangoshia said.

“Hey, what the hell do you want? Fine, I accept your apology, now bye.” Doreen spoke angrily.

“It’s OK… Yes, I’m happy for your forgiveness,” Mangoshia said as he thought of what to say next. “Um…er…er…my happiness has been changed into something special, I wish you could hear me,” he continued.

A moment elapsed without an answer been given by the girl.

“You know, I have something so interesting to share with somebody special in life like you,” Mangoshia joked.

A certain distance was covered without speaking to each other.

“Though she doesn’t seem happy speaking to me I will shout out whatever I have been keeping in my mind,” Mangoshia spoke to himself.

“Er…er…now listen, you know, you mean a lot to me. I’m failing to live simply because of something I have been keeping in my memory. It’s my own thoughts which are disturbing me. I find it difficult to say… I want to share my social affairs with you. I really know hearing this will disturb your mind, but don’t take it as if I’m joking. Just open your brain folders and have a great interpretation for that. I need your love!” Mangoshia spoke fearfully.

Quietly and lovely speaking, Doreen told the boy to wait till she will respond in return.
