“What’s wrong?” I asked her, holding her even tighter.

“I’m just scared,” she confessed.

“Of what?” I asked.

“What if you leave?” she responded, sniffing.

“I’ll never do that to you. Look at me, I love what we have going on,” I said.

“You do? You love me?” she asked.

“I adore you,” I responded, and then kissed her lips.

She smiled, and we remained that way for a while. “I will fight for us, forever and always. I will never let you leave me,” she suddenly said.

“And I would not want you to let me leave,” I responded, smiling.

Honestly, I thought those were just words lovers exchanged in the aftermath of sex. Unfortunately, she meant every word, and I was bound to find out what she meant. For that moment, she was a beautiful angel who could do no wrong, a beautiful saint who could not hurt a fly, and a sensitive being of a woman who needed nothing but my love and assurance.

***Four years later***

I felt myself getting sleepy. Good, because I had finished the story of how we met. I put my cell phone on the side and closed my eyes. I then saw Keitumetse in my mind’s eye before falling asleep. That time, I dreamt of her again, but this time, I dreamt of the first time we kissed.

If you ever want to know how Keitumetse and I ended up, then dear reader, you will have to read one of my books. “ADDICTED”.
