Everyone looked at Alejandro, waiting for his answer.

“He’s nobody,” said Alejandro. “Why?”

Kim started to laugh. “Oh, he’s nobody? Then why did he send you a message saying: ‘Hey babe, I really miss you a lot. I’m gonna come visit you, I wanna spend some time with you’?” Kim teased.

Alejandro grabbed his phone from Kim, without saying anything.

“Come on Alejandro, we all want to know who Dwayne is,” Mark said.

Alejandro still said nothing. Mark threatened that he would throw Ale in the water again, and that wasn’t what Alejandro wanted.

“Fine, fine, I’ll tell you,” said Ale. “Dwayne is my friend. He’s actually madly in love with me. He’s also gay. We only made out twice, but now he’s started to give me nicknames.”

Mark asked Alejandro if he was going to meet up with Dwayne. Kim told Alejandro to accept Dwayne as his boyfriend if he was cute. Alejandro looked at Diego and saw that he wasn’t paying attention to their conversation.

“Yes, I’m going to accept him,” said Ale. “He loves me and at least his love is for real and he’s gay.”

Diego couldn’t believe what his ears were hearing. He couldn’t help but interrupt the conversation. “What?” he said in disbelief. “You don’t even know him, and how do you know that his love is for real? I mean, this guy could be a psycho or something.”

Kim looked at Diego and started to laugh. “What’s up with you? You sound like a jealous lover,” she teased.

Diego was so angry with Alejandro, because Ale was throwing his love in the bin. “Alejandro, what about…we…” Diego started to say, almost blabbering everything out.

“What about what? You what?” Mark asked.

Diego got up and left. “I’ll see you later at your place, I have to do something,” Diego said while leaving.

Alejandro asked Mark if Diego was also coming to the sleepover.

“Yes, he finally agreed, just like you,” said Mark.

Alejandro wanted to escape, but Mark pulled him back. “Alejandro, what’s going on between you and Diego?” asked Mark. “I’ve noticed that something is wrong between you guys.”

Alejandro tried to swallow something, but everything was dry. “No, it’s nothing,” he lied. “We just care about each other. Diego and I really bonded over the past week. Diego just doesn’t want me to get hurt. It’s called Heart’s Treasures, just like Kim is your Heart’s Treasure. Diego thinks of me in that way but our situation is different from yours and Kim’s, because you and Kim are in a relationship, and Diego and I have a friendship,” Ale explained.

They went home and took a bath. It was already dark. When they’d finished freshening up, they sat in the backyard. Diego arrived there with Nina.

“Hey guys, this is Nina. I was wondering if she could join us here? I’ll take her home later on,” Diego said with a big smile.

Alejandro felt so strange when he saw Diego and Nina together. He looked at Diego at the same time that Diego was looking at him. They looked at each other for a long while. Mark noticed this.

“Guys, I’m gonna go to bed, I’m not in the mood to party,” said Alejandro and he left.

Everyone looked at Alejandro because they were disappointed that he was leaving. Mark took Alejandro to his and Kim’s room. When Alejandro closed the door, Mark stayed behind to listen. He heard Alejandro crying behind the door, so he went to the backyard.

“Guys, I think something’s wrong with Alejandro. He’s crying in his room, but please, let’s not disturb him or say anything tomorrow. Kim, take it easy. Let’s wait until Ale himself tells us what’s wrong,” said Mark to everyone.

Diego took Nina home a few hours later. As they walked, Nina talked to Diego the whole time, but Diego wasn’t paying attention, because he was too busy thinking about Alejandro. As he walked home, he thought of his true feelings for Alejandro and a tear rolled out of his eyes.

Diego started to talk to himself: “Oh Ale, how could this heart of mine be so weak? I fell in love with your beauty, your innocent face, that gorgeous smile of yours, your mouth that can’t stop talking, your body and your heart that’s open to everyone except me. How could I let myself fall so hard like this? I love you so much and it feels like I can’t live without you.”
