This story is about Lerato and her struggle in finding her true love. Lerato is working for a law firm and she became well established in the firm. Lerato also has a passion for writing. She has her own dreams and ambitions. Lerato has a wonderful mentor, Gugu who is vibrant and has a very bubbly personality. Lerato trusts Gugu because she always gives her good advice.

But Lerato is torn between her work and writing; not to mention the two men – Andile and Philane. Both men are handsome and successful. Andile drives a red Ferrari, wears Armani suits and showers Lerato with expensive gifts – he is a smooth operator but there is something dodgy about him. There was something about Philane that Lerato didn’t understand, he rubs her up the wrong way, but she feels like she can open up to him.

Lerato also feels irritated by Philane because he is defending someone who has been accused of rape; something her sister Busi had had to endure a few years back. Lerato has a very good relationship with her father and sister. Lerato’s father had been a good provider up until the accident when he lost the use of his legs and the insurance would not pay him out.

Lerato enters her writing into a writing competition to become the next script writer of the show, Generations. Andile invites Lerato to London, she declines his offer and it turns out that Andile is a criminal who has been stealing a lot of people’s money. In the meantime Lerato has realised that she’s falling in love with Philane. She won the competition, the insurance paid her father out – thanks to Philane and she found true love. Things are surely looking up for Lerato.

My opinion:

Wow! Great story – I didn’t want the story to end. Lerato went through so many things in her life and she deserves to be happy. If she had chosen Andile there would not have been any love in their relationship, and a loveless relationship is bound to end terribly. Money can’t buy love. I’m happy that she chose Philane because he is a caring man and they are both completely crazy about each other. I have to say Busi is a strong and wonderful sister, who has such a positive outlook on life. I loved the ending – it was superb and made me shed a tear because the author did such a great job!

I like how it was set out and the two characters – Lerato and Gugu – they seem like independent, successful and driven women!

I like everything about this story because most of the time Lerato and Gugu tried to be happy. I feel like it is a good story. I liked the way they described an individual and what kind of person they are. It’s like I could see the characters in real life.

I like the story and the characters, especially Gugu – she is so energetic! I like the story because it made me curious – I wanted to read more when it was over!

***

I like everything about the story, especially the strong friendships. I like the way Gugu does things – she is very active!

***

What I liked about the story was that Lerato and Gugu are close friends and work together in the same firm. I thought it was nice that if either one of them won a case, both of them would celebrate together. It makes you want to find out what will happen to their friendship in the future.

I didn’t understand what the story was about; I was very confused. I don’t like these kinds of stories.

***

I liked everything about the story, especially when they were supposed to go to the party.

***

What I liked about the story was that Lerato did not give up on her dream of becoming a Scriptwriter. I also liked how energetic Gugu was and her love for fashion.

***

What I liked about the story was that Lerato, unlike Gugu, was so passionate about her career of writing and she knew what she wanted. It’s quite an interesting story to read. It kept me entertained and wanting to read more. The start was beautifully written. I’d really like to hear more about it and continue reading!

What I like about the story is that the two ladies both have a positive attitude and they don’t criticise each other. They are both very confident and have a high sense of self-esteem.

The part of the story that I read, I really enjoyed. The story flowed nicely and what really captured me was that every event that occurred was written in a very exciting way. I was completely hooked on the story! I definitely need to read the rest of it!

***

I liked the story – it was very interesting. Lerato and Gugu are so self-confident and are lovely people. I felt that the story seemed very real. I liked how Lerato and Gugu’s relationship started from Gugu taking Lerato under her wing – showing her how things worked and teaching her how to do things around the workplace. I liked almost everything about the story because it was very interesting.

***

What I liked about the first chapter was the fact that Lerato had a friend who was pointing out the obvious. Her friend was telling her that she was in denial about her “friendship” with Andile. I liked the fact that Lerato has feelings for Andile but didn’t want to show it, because it was not a familiar feeling and because it is not the normal thing for a girl to throw herself at a boy. I don’t like that thinking about her mother still causes her heartache, because people say: “Let the dead be dead”. If she keeps on hurting it means that she hasn’t accepted the fact that her mom is no longer on this earth.

I liked the story and how the characters reminded me of characters on TV. I also liked the vocabulary used in the story because it was easy to understand. There weren’t a lot of big words so it was easy enough for everyone to read. While reading I couldn’t wait to get to the next phrase or line. When reading you feel like you’re within the story – it feels like you’re really there!
