Nothando poured wine and gave it to Samson. She looked him in the eyes, and he drank it.
“Poor Samson, you can’t stand beauty and yet you deny its love. I thought you’d do this, oh man, you’re trash! But I really enjoyed us as lovers more than enemies.”
“No…”
He fell to the floor, the room turned blurry and he lost control of his body.
“You drugged me?” asked Samson, in shock.
“Yes, my love.”
“But why? Why, Nothando?”
“Because I knew you’d betray me, you’re a traitor and you won’t ever change,” Nothando said, coldly.
“A traitor to whom? I betrayed no one.”
“No, that’s not true, but I wanted to give you a second chance and you rejected it. Oh, it’s so hard to find one’s Mr. Right.”
“I don’t understand.”
“Let me explain what’s going on, Samson. When people first meet, they talk nicely to one another and one of them even swears that they’re perfect. But when you start to know each other deeper, you start to become imperfect to one another. We disappoint each other, break promises, talk badly, betray, fight and even kill each other. And you, Samson, you dumped me, fell in love with my best friend, who’s also your best friend’s love, and go as far as marrying her! That’s hell. To make it worse, you dumped me a second time just for her again. Do you know the feeling of living with that, Samson?”
“But you said that your friendship with Lulu ended a long time ago,” Samson said, confused.
“Yes, I said so, but I give thanks to her for acting as a social-media-star wife, for I saw your wedding videos and pictures a few months ago and that’s when it struck me. She’s the one who told me to play hard to get with you, the one who said that if a man really loves you, he doesn’t confess through paper but face-to-face. Who spelled the tale of love to the other between you and her?” Nothando spat.
“She came to me when you didn’t love me any more, back then I needed love and she wanted to share hers with someone,” cried Samson.
“So she’s the backstabber. I wanted to go easy on you and at least let you live, as your weak daughter didn’t survive that little poisoning, but I hate you both so much so that I’m thinking of killing you,” said Nothando with a glint in her eye.
“So you’re involved in Siya’s death? You’re the woman the kids saw? You’re the one who poisoned her!?” yelled Samson.
“Ah! yes, but let’s say someone with the same interest as me, and who’s also comforting your wife right now at your home, wanted to kill Siya, but didn’t have the guts to, and so I took action on his behalf,” confessed Nothando.
