Katlego woke up breathing heavily, sweat running all over his forehead, as he’d just had another dream. In it, Zintle rejected his heart only to rob Karabo’s heart from Collette, despite him willingly offering his. He then rose from his bed and felt the early morning cold embrace him, his eyes groping in the dark as he tried to make out the edges of the bed, before sitting on the front edge, his mind clearly in distress.

“Katlego what’s wrong?” asked Lethabo after flicking the lights on, her eyes lingering all over him before she firmly embraced him from behind, slightly melting his stiff posture as she too looked into the mirror in front of the bed and came across the faraway look in his eyes.

“Just had a nightmare about you that’s all,” said he as he failed to maintain their ‘reflected’ eye contact.

“About me? Or Zintle?” asked Lethabo, her smile dissolving.

“What are you on about?” asked Katlego, his eyes narrowing with concentration.

“I went through your phone while you were sleeping, I still remember your password Katlego,” said Lathabo assertively.

“It was about you, no need to be jealous.”

“I’m not jealous!”

“Ooh! Just seven days ago you wanted nothing to do with me yet now you suddenly want me back.”

“Do you blame me Katlego, don’t make me remind you of what you did…”

“There we go again, let’s just go back to bed,” said Katlego as he slipped out of her embrace and slid back into the blankets.

“Ooh! So you can dream about her again, clearly I’m not the only one you’re sleeping with.”

“Lethabo…” he said just before his voice cracked, and failed to climb up his throat, after choking off his spit.

Their argument ensued, until its sound eventually found its way to Karoline’s room next door, who soon, alongside Katherine, came and gave them a counselling session from behind the closed door. Katlego finally decided to dismiss Zintle’s thoughts from his head and apologised to Lethabo. An apology that melted her heart and soon they were all cosy beneath the blankets. They were op until shafts of an early sunlight soon found their way past the closed curtains and restored life and colour into the room.

“Yet you haven’t answered me,” said she as she slightly raised her voice, now sitting on top of him as she smiled and placed his hands on her waist.

“But babes, I’ve already said yes. We’ll be king and queen of that matric ball this coming Saturday, I promise,” said Katlego as his eyes glanced into her tender, innocent eyes, surely melting his pride

“That’s all I wanted to hear,” she uttered with a light laugh, her eyes wandering all over his body, perhaps in thought, while her fingers ran across his chest towards his lips.

“Cos if not you then who, we’re mos tailored for one another,” reassured Donnel with a certain depth in his voice, in a statement that almost made his heart skip a beat, as her long fingernails ran around his chest, much to her amusement.

“Ncoooh! My dear Katlego,” expressed Lethabo as her short pink braids brushed against his forehead as she lowered her chest and pressed her body against his, also pecking his chin before pressing her succulent lips against his.

“Oh my… askies!” said Karoline as she apologetically, but slowly rushed out smiling, just after coincidentally barging in at the wrong time.

But as they giggled to Karol’s coincidence, their eyes held firmly as though they were taken aback down an imaginary journey, down a lane of lovely moments that they’d shared together, his skin still tingling with the sensation of his skin against hers.

“Now where were we?” asked Lethabo before planting another kiss on his lips, just as the pressure of her chest against his made him want to.
