“You know Mandla, I still don’t know who is sleeping with my wife, but I promise one thing brother – I will find the bastard!”

Mandla is concerned; his brother’s words are so terrifying. He can see from his brother’s eyes that he is vengeful and will never let this topic go. What Mandla doesn’t understand is why Sipho always tells him about this.

Is he telling me this because I’m his brother, or maybe he suspects that I’m the one sleeping with Poshia? Mandla wonders. But no, he will never find out.

Mandla and Sipho are brothers but Sipho was always different from a young age. He always thought about the future while Mandla on the other hand was always chasing after girls who were older than him. He got the most beating from his father for doing the same thing; always going after girls.

The two got along well although their roles and ideas distinguished them. As they grew older, they finished school together and went to the same institution. Mandla studied B.Com because of his passion for business and Sipho studied Paramedics as his interest was to save lives.

Sipho studied for a few months and fortunately got a permanent job. He had always been passionate about what he did and why he did it, and Mandla was an hour investor. Two successful brothers in a successful family. Their father always maintained a status and mostly they were significant people in the community. Their father was a respected and feared man for his fortune.

Sipho got married to Poshia after a few years. She also came from a rich family. Sipho loved her very much and he believed that God bound them because of the love they had for each other after their marriage.

But things changed after Sipho got a promotion at work. It was a joyful achievement for a moment, but after Sipho locked himself in his office at the hospital, he didn’t get enough time to bond with his wife.

He got too busy and occupied himself with work. He didn’t even come home on time, so their love began suffering. They started arguing, hurting each other emotionally and physically.

The truth is that Mandla had a soft spot for Poshia as she was beautiful and sexy. He believed she had everything you needed in a woman. Mandla was there as her shoulder to cry on when the marriage began to fall apart.

Sipho didn’t have any idea that Mandla acted as a saviour to his wife when he was not around. Mandla did everything to convince Poshia that Sipho was a bad guy. She didn’t take it well and she began asking herself some questions.

“Why is it that every time Sipho goes out to work, Mandla comes here and makes me hate him even more? Or is he right that I shouldn’t have married Sipho?”

Poshia hasn’t slept in days. She’s trying to make her marriage work with her busy husband. He’s so naive and selfish, she regards. Mandla’s job doesn’t give him much of a hassle. Mostly he sits home with his laptop and works. He is self-employed. He invests and trades. All of that just requires his laptop and Wi-Fi.

Mandla is much of a modern man, something that women find attractive. This gives Mandla all the time to be with Poshia. He approaches her with that ‘Mr Good-guy’ approach in the house, which is why she runs to him every single time she argues with Sipho.

“You know Mandla, I wish Sipho was like you. You understand how important family is and you care,” Poshia says.

“Oh, thank you Poshia. I’m just looking out for my brother’s wife. I don’t like to see you bleed. I hate the fact that Sipho is not giving you the love you deserve. Look at you, a beautiful woman like you deserves all the love and time,” Mandla says at the same time checking the time.

“Well Sipho, you amaze me, thank you so much. I really needed all of that, now I feel much better,” she hugs him.

“Mmm, which body-spray do you put on? It’s so refreshing. It smells pretty good.” She still hasn’t let go of Mandla.

“I buy expensive top quality Russian Millota sprays.”

“Oh, I see,” with a smile, Poshia finally lets go.

“So thank you for the advice you gave me today, it really meant a lot.”

“Don’t worry, I will always be there for you Poshia. I understand the frustration that my brother is giving you, but it will all pass soon. Just stay strong.”

Then Mandla goes to lock himself in his room as it’s getting late. Poshia makes supper for Sipho as he is soon to come back from work. He expects to find everything prepared when he comes back overwhelmed by his day that is so tiring.
