After doing the dishes, Siyabonga and I sat on the couch, and we were both sipping tea. We were watching an action movie, and it was my choice. Lunga, on the other hand, had never allowed me to choose a movie.

While we were watching the movie, Siyabonga and I spoke, and I told him that I was married, I had two kids, and I was expecting a third one. He told me that he had a daughter of his own, and that she visited him on holidays. His eyes sparkled as he spoke highly of his child, and it was clear he was a good father.

At that point, Siyabonga was sitting closer to me, and we were both conscious of it. I felt my blood getting hotter by the minute, and as we got closer to each other, my hand accidentally landed on his crotch.

“Mhhh,” Siyabonga said, looking at me.

We soon kissed after that, and it felt good. His lips were strong but gentle, and he did not smell of beer. While we were kissing, he whisked me up and, when we go to his bed, he stopped. “Is it okay? You’re pregnant,” he asked.

Instead of responding, I just produced a pack of “Choice” condoms.

“You were prepared,” he said, laughing. I felt a bit shy, but I did not care. We played, talked, laughed, made love, and it was very beautiful.

When I got home later that day, I could not stop thinking about Siyabonga. He was all over my mind, and that night, while I was bathing, I keep touching myself where he had touched me. Lunga joined me in the shower, and I let him. But, when we were done, I felt dirty.

I wake up the following day with a headache. I had cried myself to sleep, and Lunga had not even noticed. When I got up, I got a good morning text from Siyabonga. I then jumped into the shower, and when I was done bathing, I walked downstairs to take some pills for my headache.

When I got downstairs, I found Lunga playing with the kids. They had all eaten and bathed, and the house was spotless and clean, so I sat on the sofa.

“How was your night out?” Lunga asked me.

“Good,” I responded, blushing and thinking of Siyabonga.

Lunga stopped playing with the kids and sat next to me. “When is the scan?” he asked.

“Tomorrow afternoon, at two o’clock,” I responded.

“I’ll be there,” Lunga said, holding my stomach. “Hello daughter, this is your father,” he said, and I laughed.

“How do you know it’s a girl?” I asked.

“I just do,” Lunga responded, then he kissed me. I saw Vuyo looking at us with a smile almost frown on his face, while Owethu was playing with his toy cars.
